April 11 will be the date of our annual convention in Woodworth. What do you all want to see? Last year lots of folks said that we should do this or that after the convention was over. This is YOUR convention. What do you want to see? Also there will be board of director posisitions open and officer posisitions open. Now is the time to start thinking and planning for this great event.

I would like to watch all the beaver speed skinning contest this year. I only had the opportunity to watch half of it last year!

I'd really like to see Kyle Lofton do another coyote snaring demo. I think its about time Tony shows us some Gator Wrestling techniques! How bout a "Cool Tool" contest. Who has the coolest hand-made tool used somewhere in the fur shed?

i think Ryan would win the cool tool contest with his mink skinning rig. snaring demos would be good. building snares would be an even better demo, especially loading the snares. Id like to see a cat trapping demo or alligator demo by Tony. I can do a beaver/otter trapping demo using snares, footholds and conibears.. I trap a good number of beaver and otter every year. I do well with skunks also. I set up a few properties every year. I could demonstrate the locations i set, equipment i use, lures and baits, dispatching without the skunk spraying by Department of Natural Resources guidelines and I can show how to skin a skunk without spraying yourself, harvesting the essence and what i do with the empty pods.. Marketing the fur, skull, essence of a skunk.. I think a lot of people trap a few skunks every year and most are not marketing the products properly losing a lot of money. If they even skin them at all. I'm very efficient with my skunk trapping and the way the fur market is right now, its thrown me into a skunk rage!! Lots of money to be made from skunks and I can show you guys how! to get close to $50 for every skunk you catch.

That skunk demo sounds good to me!! Clint put on a very good snare program in Sept. work shop. If he has time, I would like to see it again .

skunks are over looked big time! or maybe people just don't want to fool with them. and a skunk is so easy to trap... where do i sign up to do a demo? i missed the september workshop, the snaring demo would be good for all to see.. that's a piece of equipment that is over looked by many. better than any mb trap, a snare...i think a lot of people pass up snares because they only run a dz or 2 and base their opinion on their catch ratio.. those critters have several trails.. their not confined to just the one you set a single snare on..

Geauxtrappin, that skunk trapping, essence harvesting demo would be something that we have never seen at the convention. Thanks for stepping up to help. Send me your phone number and when we have the next board meeting, we can see what the board wants to do for the convention.
