seems like every year i catch them in 330s on dam crossings. still alive and well. no damage to shell. ill give you a holler. i have a picture from last year where i caught 2 red eared sliders simultaneously in a 330. usually in febuary or march.. i sure enough trap turtles in the spring when they start moving around really good.. we love to eat turtle!!. ill give you a call..

As good as you are at catching furry varmits Paul, you would do great catching turtles. And make a lot more money doing it

Red ear sliders(yellow bellies), kings, maps, common musk, razorback musk, common snappers, southern paints, and softshell are the legal turtles that i buy.

i own hoop nets that i will be setting out. gotta get my rec permit first. was advised by the warden that catching incidental turtles in traps is legal, but harvesting turtles captured in that manner is illegal. however traps designed for turtles is legal so long as they are half exposed for breathing room and you purchase a recreational permit for the said traps thru LDWF which sucks cuz you cant leave anything exposed around here due to thieves. Im going to give it a shot eric. I just hope i dont start eating them myself! Lord i loves me some turtles!
