I have convinced myself that I will never be able to settle on one trap to buy...i want all of um!!! ..... anyhow... do yall think a 1 1/2 cs will hold a yote or bobcat? also, do you think the 220 conibears are big enough or strong enough for nutria? maybe i'm thinking to small because of the reflection of my wallet...but if I can get buy with these, that's what I'll buy. I'll probably use mostly snares and dp traps that I build but i can see good use for the conibears and footholds in the marsh on trails... any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

I've caught alot of nutria in 220s every now and then you will get a big boy just bull dozing over them, then put a 330 it'll get em lol. As far as yotes smallest trap I put out is a 2 Picture is a big nutria in a 330 Attachments:

thanks scoop!! The reason I was asking about the 1 1/2 cs is becuase they have a sale on pcs outdoors 12 for $55... thats the cheapest i found anywhere... I just wasn't sure if they'd hold a yote or not.... still will probably buy them and use um for trail sets on nutrul and coon... get some 110's for mink boxes...220's and 330's and build about 20-30 dp's...

Please share how you build DPs . Is it cheaper and time efficient to do so?

definitly cheaper!!... i haven't started building them yet so I'm not sure how long each will take... i would think i should be able to put one together in about an hour give or take a few minutes... If i make them 4" long, I'll be able to get 60 of um out of one lengh of pipe... that length of 1 1/2" x 20" pipe is only $30... I picked up a roll of heavy wire yesterday for $7... I haven't picked out the spring I want yet.. but have found a few at local hardware stores that would work just fine for $1 a piece. So without the chain and swivel and trigger (I have enough scrap here to make the triger and catch) I guess $30 + $7 + $60 (springs) = $97 divided by 60 dp traps = $1.61 per trap (without a chain and swivel) I'd say thats a pretty good savings!!!!

I'll video it... but i'll need help figureing out how to get the video from the camera to the computer...then from the computer to this forum.... I'm not good with all that stuff... I have 3 more big aluminum boilers to build before I can get to them... I should have 2 of the three complete by the end of this coming weekend...
I put some thought into the springs...and before I go run off and buy some, I'm going to try and make my own... I have a jig for spinning them... so i'll see if I can make it small enough to fit nicely on the pipe...
