our prices on average and from what I have seen most buyers are paying this. I have not been around all buyers so I can only post about the buyers I have been around.

Guys I arrived back from Hong Kong Fur Fair on Tuesday evening late. The markets are slowly moving. There was a 20% gain on the last sale, however 20% of $3 is .60 cents, while 20% of $10 is $2 and 20% of $20 is $4. Thus 20% improvement from the 80% loss four years ago still does not bring prices back where we need them. 20% on + or - on a $100 cat moves the needle up or down, but 20% on a $3 coons doesn't raise eye brows.
As stated to me by the VP of a very old fur house last week, " we are four years out from being where we were four years ago." Just as the over all economy recovery is slow we have added stress on our industry due to low oil prices combine with the economic sanction placed on many of the worlds largest fur consumers. The fur industry has always been boom or bust and never at a steady even keel. It is better than any roller coaster at any amusement park with the ups, downs and twist.
Fake fur is really in the rear view mirror with the world wide green movement which demands all natural and bio-degradable products. Doubtful, but with a hint of optimism we hope that free ranging fur can make a come back over pin raised fur. There are so many variables hindering our trade such as warmer winters, larger production due to modern trapping equipment, more ranch fur and poor world economy. Will the industry re-bound? It always does, just how long between re-bounds is the million dollar question.
Right now is the time for buyers to purchase fur when the market is bottomed out. However there is no way I would want to be investing right now as it could be long hold to turn $$.
Again as I have stated earlier this year, stick with the higher end goods and or idle back production.
