I had cat this morning in one of my sets but the part I am having trouble figuring out is that he had both of his rear feet in the trap. The way this trap was placed the only way I see this happening is for him to have backed into my dirt hole set and I am having trouble buying that. I did not have camera on me so no picture to show setup. The trap was an MB550 i had set for coyote.

The problem is the cat did not like that yankee junk iron and was trying to pee on the trap. ;D
Craiga what I would figure was happening is the cat was marking your lure with pee or if you had cat urine at the set was marking the urine post with its own urine. I have had the happen many time cat trapping. In fact last year on my Feb line I took 4 cats by the back foot or feet. It is not as un common as one might think to have a cat back up to the set and pee on it. What really sucks is when you have one back up and pee and you don't catch it. LOL. If this happens, put more cat urine on it and move the trap up away from the hole more.

I ment to tell you that I cuaght a female by the hind foot. This was a blocked down set so I know the cat backed up to the set. When this starts happening the breeding season is fixing to hit and hit hard. When it does, you can really catch the fire out of some toms with a good cat gland lure and good fresh cat urine.
