4leaux,I have a six foot one I made myself from electrical conduit and I have a heavy duty one I bought that is four foot and is made from heavy duty pipe.I use the lighter six foot one when I walk in and the heavy duty one rides on my ATV,it is short, but it still catches on things along the tight trails.

I have a bought 5 foot pole and homemade 6 foot pole. The 5 foot pole stays in the truck 365 days a year.

Guys, I know this is an old thread and I hope I don't break any rules by posting a link, but here is a very simple and inexpensive catch pole design. They're so inexpensive, I've made several and keep them in my vehicles and atv's. www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbLP43ICEOM

Good video. I used one of those type catch poles for years. I gave it to a fellow trapper this year who did not have a catch pole.

In every wood, every ditch, and every open field lies the potential for a great trapping location.

I used a six foot made from PVC and cable with a clothesline tensioner on one end. Works great.
