Yes baits and lures can be stored from one year to the next. It is best if you can store them out of direct sunlight and in a cool place.
Personally I store mine in a couple 5 gallon buckets with the lids snapped on them and put them in the basement of my home.
Urine can also be carried over from one year to another but will have a tendency to take on a strong ammonia smell. to cure this just take the cover of the container the urine is in and let it stand for a couple days and the ammonia smell will dissipate.
Hope this helps.

Hey Todd, I was thinking about putting my lures in a large zip lock bag and putting the bag in one of those large cooler bags with the zippers. I think the zip lock should contain the scent and keep the ole lady off me so I can store them in the house. I don't really have a cool place in this louisiana heat! Lol. On a separate note, was wondering if anyone had any ideas for containers they use to carry lures separate from their equipment. I thought about maybe investing in a small tackle box. It would help keep them organized and protect them from getting tossed around against one another as I moved from set to set. I was curious to see if anyone else had any good ideas on the subject?

I have found that and electricians bag with big pockets works best. Carry your tools in the the center and your lure on the out side. I have used that for about 5 years now, till a JC Conner bag showed up at the house after the NTA this year. Someone LOVES me and had one drop shipped to the house. Must be the southern charm.

Jake, I think you will be surprised how much smell those zip-lock bags will let out! Personally I would put them in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid that has the o-ring seal and your wife will be none the wiser.
As for my good buddy Tony, I've only really known him well for about 3 years even though we first met in person about 5 or 6 years ago. I have never met a person that shares the same passion for our sport of trapping, family values and just an all around nice guy like him. He is by far my best friend and consider him part of my family. Tony knows I'm a jokester and can be as serious as a heart attack when need be... Even though we live over 900 miles apart if he was in a bind all he would have to do is call and I would be there. I am proud to call him my friend and I know the feeling is mutual.

Thanks Todd, met him a few months ago and I agree with you. He definetly represents the organization well. He spoke very highly of you too. Hope u get to make it to the up coming conventions. I'd like to meet. I visited this forum and a couple more before joining last week and there seems to be a lot of good people that has a passion for trapping and promoting the sport. Maybe one day I'll make a good trapper and can return that gift. For now I'm passing on all I know to my ten yr old boy and my eight yr old nephew. We have managed to make some great memories this yr. thanks Tony and to all the men posting great information for those of us still learning. From the bottom of my heart Thank you.

I put my lure and urine in an old Igloo water cooler, like the ones on construction jobs,it is large and keeps everything well, both lure and urine. It does not hurt to wrap the glass containers in newspaper,in case it drops or falls over.
