I have the cameras rolling now test new lures I purchased in Lima. Soon we will know what hot and whats not. I have a video of a coyote fooling around a set, but not really working it. I picked them up today and only had a possum, two coons and buck deer. Non worked the sets though, just walked the game trails.
What are some of the lures yall would like to see tested? Let me know, if I have them, I will try to run a test on them.

Here is one I went ahead and down loaded. There is cat gland lure on the stick the coon walks by. Never even broke stride. Nor did this one.

Looky what came to check out a lure the other night. If you hit the stop button on the video and rewind all the way to the start, you can see the time and date.

Garett, I don't know that have Dobbins K9 Select but I already have a pile of lures that I will be testing this season. I checked the cameras yesterday and had videos of coons and one dear. Nothing worth showing so I deleted them all and will try again with different lures.

I think it is a rat. The field had just been cut and the rats were running wild.

The sent post the coons went by was that in a trail or just in a field? Did yall see how far away that cats feet were from that post? Really shows how alot go uncaught sometimes .

I am convinced that there are certain animals that, for whatever reason, will not work a conventional trap set.Dirt holes, flat sets,or scent post sets can all be ignored by certain "wise" animals, who live to a ripe old age by purposely avoiding our best sets, which will catch 90% of the population.Catching these educated old timers gives me great satisfaction, knowing they have lived on their wits for so long only to fall for my well planned Waterloo.Blind trail sets and snares are the tools I use to harvest these wiley veterans, catch them where they walk,so to speak.I find the larger males of most species make up the majority of these particular animals, they are large, specialized killing machines, that very seldom go hungry, which I think has a lot to do with them having little interest in my sets.Breeding season is another opportunity to take these prizes,as they tend to lose their caution and will investigate smells of other animals of their species in their territories.Subtle, blended flat sets or scent post sets using urine and gland lure are the ticket to success at this time. Most fur trappers do not worry about these particular animals because they are taking the surplus animals as quickly as possible and the time involved to wait them out is not justified,so they just leave them as seed for next year.
