To our many friends and members, I want to express how thankful I am to have each and every one of you on board with the LTAHA message board. This is a great place that we can share information, make friends and tell tales. In light of current events and propaganda flooding the internet, we feel it is in our best interest to implement certain restrictions on pictures and discussions on the message board. We are not bowing out but rather taking heed and learning lessons from other trappers assoc across the country and the deer hunting community. The following pictures and content will no longer be allowed on the open forum of the message board. This is not an attempt to control, but efforts to avoid undue actions using our own comments and material as propaganda and ammunition against us in a fight that is looming. These new rules are not unlike any other trapping board websites.
We will not discuss dispatch methods on the message board. If you wish to ask about dispatch methods, please do it in a private message or on the phone. To some people this is disturbing and can be used as propaganda by other organizations.
There will also be no discussion of non target catches.
Also without going into great detail, we will ask that any picture that is posted on the open forum be as follows.
1. The target fur bearing animal that was caught in your trap. (Meaning no pictures of any non-target catches, such as birds, cats, dogs etc…)
2. The picture should show the animal in as respectful way as practical. (animals with natural disease are expectable.) We don’t want pictures to include extreme foot damage, bulging eyeballs, broken legs…you get the point. The picture should never suggest that the animal endured any suffering or undue injury or stress.
3. If possible, make an attempt not to show the use or catch style, please make the picture trap free if possible. Certain pics of animals caught in body traps are what anits are looking for to further their cause. We all know how the animal was caught. Please use good judgment on this. Hunting pictures are welcome as long as the animal was taken by legal means and the preceding rules are followed.
We are asking for our members to help us with this matter as keeping up this message board can be a full time job if we don’t use good judgment. Think about the deer hunting shows you see on TV. How many times to they show up to the animal’s location and show the real story? They prepare the animal to be shown on TV so there is no fuel added to the fire of antis. We are not asking you to not post pictures at all, but use good judgment when doing so. Thanks for your understanding and help and good trapping!!!! Web site admin and moderators.
If you have any questions please feel free to PM one of us.
