Trapping summer coyotes are tough. The heat of the summer makes them very lethargic and nothing is stirring. They are in their home area not moving much, so you will have to find where they denned up at and trap close to it. Try a blind set or use urine from another animal besides a coyote.(like bobcat, fox) They dont like trespassers. Its not impossible to catch them in the heat of the summer but If you can wait untill late october and early november, (with your year round comercial license of course), you can wackem good with bait and curiosity lures. This is when the first year pups are disbersing to find new territory and movement is great.Where you from Mike?
