Cinamon Coon Bait
SHAD COON BAIT
Take some fresh shad and ground up and fill a qt jar up add 1 cup of salt.place top on shake well.put in a dark room for one or two months.after the oil comes to the top then drain the oil off and keep as this is a mild sweet fish oil that can be used for your coon trails or as a ingredent .
after you drain the oil off add a pint of mollasies and 1 oz of ground cinamon.this bait works on coon and fox no lure is needed but it helps and i recommend a gland lure. good at dirt holes and flat sets use a teaspoon ful at set.
you can not over use this bait as there is never to much

I've never made fish oil before but I'm going to try this one. When I was trapping, we used to use the left overs from perch fishing (heads, guts, tails). I was thinking of pulling out my cast net and go catch a bunch of mullet and make um with that..... if I use the mullet, do I have to cut the head off and gut them prior to chopping um up and putting them in the bucket?
