Hi I was thinking about doing a little fur trapping this year. I use to trap years ago but quit due to low fur prices and little time The area where I plan to trap is in the lower atchafalaya basin where I have a small camp on state land. There seems to be alot of beaver down there, some coons and otters. I had a few questions about current fur prices, local buyers and types of traps to uses. But I have been reading alot of the post on here and have pick up alot of info. My main question now is it with the effort to trap beavers. Thanks Ronnie

Lacoonazz32 I know I can get all the help I need from here just by what I've been reading. My thoughts about trapping again came from all the beavers I was seeing while crawfishing in the basin, man it seems like they were everywhere. There would be 2 or three just laying around on their lodges as I would past by with my boat. And also the otters would raid my crawfish traps and kind mash them all up. There is probably about 70 or 80 thousands acres of state land down there to trap. I guess will see what happens
