I can honestly say that my vise grips are one of if not the most important tools in my trapping bucket.I use them for opening and closing J-hooks and S-hooks,with a screwdriver,on swivels or connections on traps and snares. The round jaw vise grips have a wire cutter built into the rear of the jaws,I use this to cut both wire and snare cable,if I do not have my wire pliers or my snare cable cutters. They are useful in tuning up my traps,I use them to turn up the jaw ends and to adjust the cross frame end, when I am adjusting the dog to level the pan. They can be used to clamp the springs on long spring traps, when you are removing them to work on the long spring traps. They can be very useful when using them to help with fitting and welding, when modifying traps. They work admirably in the field as a back-up,with a crescent wrench,on a loose bolt on a trap or an ATV,or your trapping vehicle.Though they may not be the perfect tool for every job, they are very versatile, both in the field and in the fur shed. What are some of the things you use them for?

try the vice grips for sheet metal for skinning. they have a 2" wide flat jaws, perfect for a no slip hold when your pulling.
