We need volunteers for these two events. History Days is scheduled for March 18 and 19 at Stuart Lake in Grant Parish. They will have School Day on Friday the 18th from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Family Day on Saturday the 19th from 9 a.m. - Until. This will be a booth like we have for National Hunting & Fishing Day.
For Roughin' It Camp, we'll have 10 groups of kids throughout the day, 8 a.m. - 6:20 p.m. (with lunch and 2 other breaks) on Tues. April 26 and will have to speak for 20-30 mins. to each group. This will be at Gum Springs in Winn Parish.
The more help the better, so please step up to the plate and volunteer for these events.

Appreciate you volunteering. We'll be at #14 down by the lake. We'll have displays of furs, traps, and other stuff. We'll talk with everyone who comes by. This is the first time they've had Cenla History Days so not sure how many will attend, but usually there are lots of kids with lots of questions at these events.

Thanks to all who have volunteered for History Days and if any others can make it, we'd appreciate your help. They're now saying the times will be 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. both days. Some of the school groups are coming out earlier that 10:00 on Friday. We're setting up Thurs. afternoon since people will be there overnight to watch everything. Even if you can't be there the whole day, please come out and support us for whatever time you can. An hour or two either day would be helpful. They're going to have some interesting stuff on the civil war, Indian culture & dancing, Cajun music, a working grist mill, and some different demos. I wanted to attach a flyer but it's too large to attach here. It would be something fun for the family and the weather's supposed to be nice. A good learning experience, too, for kids and adults alike.

History Days was a big success. We had over 500 school children come by our booth on Friday, and several hundred more people on Saturday. It was a great turnout for a first time event. Thanks to all who showed up and participated.
