Yea it was a great day! I was excited to meet a lot of new folks and see a lot of people I haven't seen in awhile. It was good to put faces with names as well. The demos were awesome, there were a ton of kiddos, lots of good food... Couldnt ask for a better time.
For those that don't know me by my user name on here this is Shane Willhite aka. ShaneT.

I just pulled in at 9:50. It was and awesome day. I had a blast seeing everyone. I am sore as all get out but at least I am not limping like Wesley. Great job to everyone who helped and the kitchen was awesome. Thanks for all the hard work that went into making it a successful day.

got home at 10:00 and we talked about how the association has grown, we go to about 15 conventions a year and the Louisiana convention I wouldn't miss for any of them. thanks to everyone it was truly an associations effort from all of ya that makes it a great convention. I do apologize to anyone I might not of helped do to the talking and just catching up, but like some of ya its hard to find time to talk to others during the winter months. god bless and thanks again

Update: it's now Sunday morning and it's official. I am old. My ankle is killing me and I am hurting head to toe but would not trade the fun I had for nothing . At least I was able to beat Tony and Eric while they were " grappling". Top quality demos this year too. The association is strong and has the right people in the right places. Thanks to everyone for showing up and making all the work fun..also congrats to our first female board member Samantha Howard. You were always part of the family, yesterday we just made it official!,

Man! I had a great time! The demos were awesome! The food was great! And meeting people I talked to on the forum. Thanks again to all that made it happen. I guess next time, we need to put up some fencing to make sure Paul goes through the obstacle course. That was funny!

Had a great time yesterday. Out of all the conventions I have been to for the LTAHA, this was one of my favorites. Lots of fun. The bouncy obstacle course was a great idea.

In every wood, every ditch, and every open field lies the potential for a great trapping location.

I thought things were excellent. I brought my father and friends and they really enjoyed the demo's of snaring and skinning/fur prep. The location was great too. We were able to enjoy the shooting range for a little bit as well. Although I was not able to stay the whole day, I enjoyed everything up until about 130, when we had to leave. I will be moving back to DeRidder, Louisiana, my hometown, in the fall of next year and look forward to meeting many of you again at or before next years festival. I spoke briefly to Ryan about helping out with the association in any way possible. I love spreading the word about trapping and have gotten several people into the sport. I'd love to become a bigger part of the association like Sam has become if there are any availabilities in the future. I have 9 classes left to finish my bachelors, then I'll be ready to devote some serious time into this passion of ours.
