Does anyone have any thing they would like to see in the NEWS letter? I will not be putting one out till after the Spring Fling. At that point I will plan on putting out a quarterly NEWS letter. Please let me know what you would like to see in it. I plan to have a tip section, a Assn news section and at least one short article from a member. Let me know if there is anything else you want to see in it.

How about a fur market update for Louisiana fur??? All that you see in magazines are for more northern fur. Maybe something that will just pertain to us. I have someone in mind that just might do this for us. How about an ad section just for our members to sell trapping related items? Used or homemade. I like the tips, news, and article ideas definately.

Space is going to be limited at first. I plan to only make it 4 pages at first. Front and back on 2 sheets of paper. That way way we can fold, tape and send in the USPO for about .44 each. I want to keep the cost down, but I want to give the members good useful info. The idea you have listed above would be great. Let me know who could give us a market report and or put me in contact with them. If the NEWS letter takes off, we grow it as needed. I want to put as much info in as little a space as possible.
Anyone else? I know yall are reading this, I need input. I want to send out something that will do the job for our assn.

This news letter is really, a good ideal. I like it. I would't sending a fee $ to help out on postage and paper, what ever, That way the assoc. would'nt have to pick up the tab. Witch I don't know, But I think, it might be short on funds. Money is always a problem in getting started I would like the tips, market reports, suppliers, and rules and regulation that we have to follow [law] here in our GREAT state Louisiana. There is times that I think I am breaking the law and I REALLY don't want that to happen. I want to know something about trapping in the sand hill and pine trees. It has snow here 6 times in my life of 67 wonderful years. What I'm trying to say. I would appreicate good Southern information . Hey don"t get me wrong I love our northern friends. They taught me a lot. You see I started tring to trap about 8 years ago. by accident, thats another story, God Bless you all we gone lj

yeah, jus click on the modify icon and change your post. John as for now we have the budget set to cover the expense of the News letter. We will be expanding it some as we build it and grow it to ensure it is covering the topics our memebers want covered. Thanks for the kind word and I look forward sharing more with you in issues to come.

Tony have you given any thought to sending out via e-mail? Page and size limits pretty much non-existent and no postage at all. For those who insist on a printed and USPS shipped copy there could still be a reduced mailing?
Just a thought as this is the way I get most newsletters from organizations I am a member of these days.

Craiga, I have thought about that. But there are so many of our members that do not have email or access to it. The hard copy in print is also very personal. It is being sent to person and they can hold it and touch it and know that the accos cared enough to put it together and send it to them. It lets them know there is a stronger Assoc.
I still don't have a problem emailing it though.

Tony perhaps when every one signs up next year they and have the option to get their news letter sent either by email or regular mail even it say 1/3 of the membership decides to get the news sent email then that is 1/3 of the mailing cost still saved
