So you,re NOT using music wire for the spring? Not wanting to sound negative but would think you would not have enough tension/presure to hold a coon, but then agin a 10 pound coon is big for y'all down there.

I ordered a 5lb. spool of .125 music wire... and I'll see what difference it makes...but it's purdy tough like it sits... i built a few for a buddy of mine and we set um out behind his house a couple weeks ago just to check um out... caught 3 coon in 4 traps in the two nights they were out... no pull outs... but i'm not sure how long the #9 wire will keep that strength..that's probably where the music wire will be better....
the coon down here are bout as big as your yotes up there.... but i thought you always caught grinners anyhow?

well... we do have a bunch of small ones....but bunch of biggins too... the difference is you had 50 sets for those two... we catch 51 in 50 sets... we're magic!!
