I've been trying to catch some coyote in a area I've seen a lil sign and the past two days in a row I've caught 2 rabits. I made a dirt hole set using pro choice in the hole and using gusto for a call lure. Can somebody tell me why rabits seem to be attracted to this lure.

Rustynail, all animals are attracted to a strange smell in their territories,be it curiosity, possible food or salt source,or the presence of an animal of the same or different species.I find deer and cattle are attracted to my lure and urine here in Louisiana and elk and cattle in New Mexico.I find rabbits are especially attracted to urine, they say it is the salt in it.I have even reversed the tables on them and used rabbit urine at some of my bobcat sets, with a rabbit head or some body part covered in an open cubby behind my trap in a walk through set.In New Mexico,I find even the squirrels and small rodents are attracted to my sets,I guess it is the lure and/or urine, they like to steal my poly-fil,too.
